A question of sport

What types of sports bettors are affiliates targeting with their content and website? Me ask a couple of affiliates about how they get to know more about their segment.

The mission of my website, TheCappersForum. com has always been geared toward the informed, serious, and professional (if there is such a thing) sports handicapper. Unlike most sports forums out there, I try to encourage handicappers (like myself) who know sports handicapping as a quantitative analysis, rather then a logical or dart throwing guess. Unfortunately, the dart throwers do happen to find their way onto the forum. We try to keep them low key and they are highly moderated.

Before running a sports forum I was aware of the term, ”Gambling Degenerates”; a term I never really liked or acknowledged was part of the sports gambling community. After 3 years of running TheCappersForum (ICF), I have come to the resolve that they do exist, and in numbers. Most tend to have one motivation; trouble. Trouble on the forum usually comes from three types of users.

  1. Addicted Gamblers who need their daily fix.
  2. College Students who shouldn’t be gambling in the first place because of limited resources.
  3. People in general who cannot afford to gamble and then tend to cause problems when they take the wrong advice and lose their hard earned cash.

When the going gets tough… Affiliates get going.

With the financial world facing extreme crisis and various governments across the globe running frantically in what can merely be described as „blind panic”, one could easily be forgiven for joining the masses.

In whichever direction one looks, it is evident that all have adopted the same panic-stricken sing-song portraying a disastrous situation; falling property prices, increasing of consumer debt and above all, an overwhelming fear regarding the state of health of our global economy. However, when rational thoughts eventually take over our emotional alarms it is possible for us, considering the industry we operate in, to begin to realize that the future is not as dismal as we are making it out to be.

Undoubtedly, there is strong apprehension about recession and as a consequence, advertising budgets are being slashed. Furthermore, although many market leaders across the board have revealed their intentions to maintain marketing spend into the downturn, it is evident that from the research conducted by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) as well as other anecdotal data, budgets are undeniably being cut. Annual marketing budgets in the United Kingdom, for example, have been revised downward in Q3 to the highest extent ever recorded in the Bellwether Survey’s nine-year history.

4 super affiliate strategies: Findings from the income access affiliate survey.

Revenue is not the only thing that separates super-affiliates from the crowd. Super-affiliates have certain business practices that allow them to generate big earnings. Affiliates with super-affiliate aspirations, then, can stand to learn from their super-successful peers.

There’s more that separates an affiliate from a super-affiliate than earnings. After all, the revenues are just the outcome of doing other things differently. Figuring out what those other things are, then, can mean the difference between having a hobby or an early-retirement.

Income Access recently surveyed several hundred iGaming affiliates. With a 72.3% response rate, the results were overwhelming: we documented quite a few strong trends, and also confirmed many of our assumptions about the iGaming affiliate marketplace. Many of these trends and assumptions had to do specifically with the differences between affiliates and super-affiliates.
